Diet Coke and Earmuffs?

When Erik and I went to Tennessee for our little vacation, we stopped by our favorite place…. The Christmas Place. This is a huge store with lots of little rooms I like to call “cubbies” filled with all sorts of Christmas decorations – from the most expensive keep-your-hands-off-unless-you’re-buying-it ones to the down-right indestructible, kid-friendly, cute ornaments.

While walking around, we went around one little corner and there it was. A stand with nothing but Coke-themed ornaments. As I looked and turned the display, one at the bottom caught my eye. It was a little minature Diet Coke can, with fake frost, and it was wearing it’s own pair of red earmuffs. It was so cuuttee!!!!

*GASP* “Oh. My. Gosh! This is SOO cute! I gotta get this for Scott!”

I picked it up, and walked around the store, resolved that I was going to get it for him. We continued to look at ornaments and displays until we had seen most of everything we could see. But when we started to leave, the checkout line was long and so I decided to put my stuff back… including the ornament.

It really bothered me because I really wanted to get it for him. He’s such a Diet Coke – addict, and the humor of it fit him to a “t”. So, when we got back to the cabin, I told Erik that I really wanted to go back to get some of the stuff I had picked out.

So, as we were leaving out of town, we stopped by there and I got my cousin’s favorite “mountain” treat – a pecan log – and then I made a bee-line for the ornament. I got it, along with a few others for the family, and we made our way out.

When we got back and got settled into regular life again, I sent Scott a DM(direct message, kinda like a text message, but over twitter) that I got him a present and it was on it’s way to him. I wouldn’t tell him what it was, but he had to open it over Skype so I could see what he thought of it. He waited patiently and DM’d me when I got it, and later Skyped me. He opened it and weeded through the miles and miles of stuffing I had packed it in to keep it safe. The look on his face was priceless. He laughed and said it was awesome and that he was going to make it his twitter profile pic for December.

What I didn’t expect was this….

DietCoke-Earmuffs

Scott went and bought red earmuffs so he could match the can. Just priceless. He’s such a goofball.

Thank you, Scott, for making my day every single day that I see that picture! You are the best!
